Someone in Europe stole 12 tons of KitKat. The Chocolate Professor has had enough.
Let’s talk about the most audacious chocolate crime of 2026.
According to a report this week from Reuters, thieves in Europe made off with approximately 12 tons of KitKat chocolate bars. Twelve tons. That’s not a snack. That’s a felony against joy.
As someone who has spent years studying, tasting, and writing about the world’s finest chocolate, I can tell you: this cannot stand.
So I’m doing something about it.
The Chocolate Professor is officially offering a $5,000 reward — with conditions.
This isn’t a tips hotline. This is a direct offer to the thieves themselves. Here’s the deal:
Turn yourselves in to the proper authorities. Return all 12 tons of KitKat’s — in full, uneaten condition. Every. Last. Bar.
Do that, and I will personally pay you $5,000.
No partial returns. No negotiating over a few missing bars. All of it comes back, and you do the right thing by law enforcement.
Why does this matter? Because Easter is coming.
Children and chocolate lovers around the world are counting on those KitKats. KitKat is one of the most beloved chocolate bars on the planet, and right now, 12 tons of it is sitting somewhere it shouldn’t be, in the hands of people who clearly don’t appreciate what they have.
You want to know what 12 tons of KitKat is worth? At current retail pricing, the $5,000 reward I’m offering is the equivalent of roughly 25,000 full-size KitKat bars. Think about that.
